Elm Class

Elm Class

Elm is a mixed class of Reception and Year 1. The class teachers are Miss Corwood (Monday and Tuesday) and Mrs Handley (Wednesday to Friday).

We have many classroom assistants throughout the week to help us in our class.  We love learning both indoors and outdoors in our outdoor shelter and playground.

We follow the curriculum guidance for the Early Years Foundation Stage.

Work is planned across seven areas of learning:

 • Personal, social and emotional development
 • Communication and language
 • Physical development
 • Literacy
 • Mathematics
 • Understanding the world
 • Expressive arts and design

We work on topics and themes on a half-termly basis, which provides learning opportunities through lots of interesting activities and investigations.
