Meals are freshly prepared for the children. Lunches cost £2.50 per day and we ask that where possible these are paid for in advance. We ask all parents to book their children's lunches 5 days IN ADVANCE on the School Gateway app, at https://login.schoolgateway.com/0/auth/login and for those in Years 3,4,5 and 6 to make payment on the School Gateway app. If you have any problems accessing the app, please contact the school office on firstname.lastname@example.org or phone 01363 772256. Packed lunches may be brought to school, and eaten under supervision in the hall. Drinks should be brought in screw top bottles - no glass bottles please. Sweets, crisps and chocolate should not be brought to school and children may bring healthy snacks for breaktime, e.g fresh fruit. Please do not send anything containing nuts as we have a strict "No Nut" policy at Sandford School.
The Government introduced Universal Infant Free School Meals for all Key Stage 1 pupils from September 2014. All pupils in Reception, Year 1 and Year 2 in state-funded schools in England are eligible for Universal Infant Free School Meals.
For Years 3 upwards, you could qualify for FREE SCHOOL MEALS ELIGIBILITY - If your child does not currently receive free school meals but you think they qualify due to a change in your family circumstances, or if you are in receipt of Income Support, Income Based Job Seekers Allowance or Child Tax Credit (not Working Tax Credit) you may qualify. Please apply online through the Devon Citizen’s Portal as soon as possible. This is the quickest and easiest way for your eligibility to be assessed and you will get an instant decision. Alternatively, please call Devon County Council education helpline on 0345 155 1019. It is advantageous to register for free school meals even if these are not taken on a regular basis as other related benefits may then become available.
