Executive Headteacher
-
The governors of the Exe Valley and Moorsway Federation wish to appoint an Executive Headteacher to lead the Moorsway Hub in the next stage of its development journey. The Moorsway Hub of EVMF comprises three small schools, Cornwood C of E School, The Erme School in Ivybridge and Shaugh Prior School. All three schools are at the centre of their communities and serve the local area and beyond; Cornwood is a Church of England Voluntary Controlled School and has good links with the local church and has a distinctively Christian ethos.
The Erme is currently judged by Ofsted as a ‘good school’. Cornwood has been judged to require improvement by Ofsted and action plans are in place to support their improvement at pace. The Exe Valley & Moorsway Federation School Improvement Team is currently working alongside both schools to raise standards and secure improvement. Shaugh Prior was judged to be inadequate by Ofsted in December 2024 and pupils still on roll there are now being educated at Cornwood C of E School. The local authority and Diocese of Exeter have also been involved in supporting the schools.
The governors would like to recruit an Executive Headteacher with the energy, experience and expertise to enable the schools to continue improving. If you are a dynamic and inspirational leader who is keen to work with us as the leader of the federation team, then we would love to hear from you. This post will include the day to day running of one of the federation schools.
