Kitchen Manager
The Executive Headteacher and Governors of Exe Valley and Moorsway Federation are seeking to appoint an experienced and enthusiastic Kitchen Manager to oversee mealtimes at Cheriton Fitzpaine Primary /Silverton Primary School from April 2026.
You will need to be an enthusiastic, self-motivated and a hard-working individual who can lead the provision of high-quality meals at Cheriton Fitzpaine and Silverton Primary.
You will need to have an appreciation for the challenges of working in a busy kitchen and be willing to carry out a variety of roles that may change on a day-to-day basis.
🍴 What you’ll bring
• Experience cooking fresh, healthy meals for groups
• Knowledge of food hygiene, safety, and kitchen compliance (Level 3 Food Hygiene or equivalent)
• Ability to plan simple, nutritious menus within budget
• Confidence catering for a range of dietary needs and allergies
• Good organisation and time management in a busy kitchen
• A calm, positive, and caring manner with young people and staff
• Pride in keeping a clean, safe, and welcoming kitchen environment
• Ability to work independently and as part of a supportive team
The role will be based at Cheriton FItzpaine Primary and will commence April 2026. The hours will be Monday to Friday, term time only, 30 hours per week.
The salary for this post is currently £25,583 - £26,403 full time equivalent [NJC Grade C] or an hourly rate of
£13.26 - £13.69 per hour.
