Teaching Assistant / Meal Time Assistant Vacancies

Job Vacancies for September 2024

The Executive Headteacher and Governors of the Exe Valley Federation wish to appoint a teaching assistant and Mealtime Assistant for September 2024 at Thorverton Primary School. The Federation comprises seven village primary schools within East and Mid Devon and shares a common vision for excellence and a drive to continuously improve outcomes for all our children, both emotionally and academically. Three of the schools are Church Schools with a strong Christian ethos and all staff are expected to uphold this ethos. The successful applicants may be asked to work at any of the federation schools in the future.

 

Thorverton Primary School: TEACHING ASSISTANT

We would like to recruit a Teaching Assistant to work on a 1:1 basis with a child with additional needs at Thorverton Primary School. This post is for five mornings per week, Monday  to Friday from 8.45am to 13.15pm, with a 15 minute break. The post is for 39 weeks per year, which includes staff training days.

The current pay range is from £12.18 to £12.59 per hour, depending on experience [Grade C]. This is subject to 2024 pay awards. This is a fixed term post until 31st August 2025, when staffing needs for the following year will be reviewed.

Applicants should have experience of working with young children and have an understanding of how they would support a child with additional needs by adapting the curriculum and managing behaviour to enable the child to succeed in school. Training will be given to the successful candidate to develop the skills needed further to undertake this role.

THORVERTON C of E SCHOOL: MEALTIME ASSISTANT

We would like to recruit a Mealtime Assistant to work across the four classes at our school to supervise lunch service and then playtime. This post if for five days per week, Monday to Friday from 12.00pm to 1.30pm.

The post is for 39 weeks per year, which includes staff training days.

The current pay range is £11.59 per hour, depending on experience [Grade A]. This is subject to 2024 pay awards. This is a fixed term post until 31st August 2025, when staffing needs for the following year will be reviewed.

Applicants should have experience of working with children and have an understanding of how they would support children to eat well and promoting positive play outside. Training will be given to the successful candidate to develop the skills needed further to undertake this role.
