Exe Valley

This is an extraordinary time and I know that for many of you it will have been the most worrying and stressful period that you have experienced for a long time, especially if you are trying to help elderly relatives or people who are vulnerable. It has certainly been challenging for us as a leadership team to work out what the best way forward is for our schools and how that will look in practice. Thank you all for your patience and for the many messages of support that you have sent to me and to the Heads of School as we try to work together  to get through this time of crisis.

We will be keeping Newton St Cyres open for as long as possible, for the children of key workers who cannot make alternative childcare arrangements. We will be keeping in touch with families during the period of school closure by email and there will be information to share with you and new learning opportunities to explore.

I hope that you are able to stay well and strong for the time that schools are closed and look forward to seeing the children back in school as soon as possible, full of stories about what they have done during their time at home.

For families at our church schools, and for anyone else who would like to do so, the Church of England suggests praying this prayer:

Keep us, good Lord, under the shadow of your mercy in this time of uncertainty and distress.
Sustain and support the anxious and fearful, and lift up all who are brought low;
that we may rejoice in your comfort knowing that nothing can separate us from your love
in Christ Jesus our Lord.
